What Happened to Debate?

It seems like my generation (20-somethings) have lost the passion to engage each other in intellectual conversation. If you bring up politics to a friend, they quickly try to change the subject. You talk about controversial ideas like limiting abortions, gay rights, and gun control and you will see people look away. You never see any protest by young Americans anymore. Raise the tuition rate in France and you have a riot in the streets. Raise the tuition rate in the States and we might post a passive-aggressive message on Facebook about it, but we won't do anything else about it.

Why is that? Please leave me message in the comment box with your thoughts.

  1. Because your generation has been taught that it is politically incorrect to disagree. You truly need to learn that it is alright to 'agree to disagree'.
Unfortunately only a few of your generation will innovate and dare to do something new until a little 'true' debate occurs.
Just my thoughts and don't care if you agree or disagree, you'll still be my son!
