What Happened to Debate?

It seems like my generation (20-somethings) have lost the passion to engage each other in intellectual conversation. If you bring up politics to a friend, they quickly try to change the subject. You talk about controversial ideas like limiting abortions, gay rights, and gun control and you will see people look away. You never see any protest by young Americans anymore. Raise the tuition rate in France and you have a riot in the streets. Raise the tuition rate in the States and we might post a passive-aggressive message on Facebook about it, but we won't do anything else about it.

Why is that? Please leave me message in the comment box with your thoughts.

Weight Loss Challenge

I have been putting this off for way to long....and no, this isn't a New Years resolution. I hate resolutions.

I will be weighing in once a week to measure success.
1/24/2011- 260lbs. (approximatively...no scale in the apartment)

Healthy Goals for the week:
Drink 64oz of water a day
Reduce alcohol consumption by 50%
Don't eat out at restaurants
Create a work-out plan

Lets see how the first week goes. I will be recap the week on Sunday night.

Changing the Focus

I started writing this blog as a way of communicating with friends and family while abroad in Korea. But I want to take this thing a new direction (still including my friends and family). I have no idea what this will look like...but let's see where it goes.

One week ago...

One week ago I decided to do something a little crazy. I don't know if a sane person gets onto a plane flies half way around the world. On top of that, I didn't know anyone in Korea, and I didn't have a clue about Korean culture or language.

But what a week it has been. The friends I have met, the food have eaten, the times that I have had have simply been amazing....AND ITS ONLY WEEK ONE!

First Day of Class...

And boy was it a long one. But while long, I am really excited about the subjects that I am enrolled in. By far the best class/professor was Korean Economy and the Globalizing World. The professor was engaging and this seems like a class that I am really going to enjoy. That is all for now. Peace
